This summer we hosted a fun "she's a gem" party during our Bling It On Jewelry Making camp and it was chock full of all kinds of shiny baubles! We had so much fun making necklaces, bracelets and rings, not to mention dressing up and getting fabulous mini makeovers. It's so nice to get to enjoy a girly day now and then, and this day celebrating with beautiful baubles and lots of giggles was just what this boy mom needed!
Disclosure: As an Oriental Trading Ambassador, I received compensation and/or products in exchange for my styling and crafting services. As always, all opinions are my own.
I'm completely smitten with pastels and balloons at the moment, let's face it, who isn't?! I found these gorgeous diamond shaped honeycombs and knew immediately I needed to design a party around them. If I could keep a pile of them around on the daily my life would surely be complete!
A gorgeous balloon arch makes such a huge statement, and is a fairly easy way to dress up a room. Once they're inflated, simply use fishing line and a blunt needle, and string away. I attached one end to one of my light sconces, and the other to a command hook from the ceiling.
Pastel pony bead bracelets from Oriental Trading, complete with pretty heart shaped beads and a sweet silver charm made for the cutest arm candy. Don't the beads look gorgeous in the terrarium? I love being able to use conventional decor items for unexpected purposes. And I'm smitten with the sign Jen T. created for us!
I found the large diamond shaped centerpiece at Home Goods in the clearance section, and gave it a once over with a little silver spray paint. The diamond shaped candle holders from Hobby Lobby also received a little silver paint. There's absolutely no shame in my spray paint game!
Our chairs also received a silver spray paint makeover, and the gorgeous tags created by my fave gal pal Jen T. by Design hung perfectly from the backs along with a little added bauble.
The table received a healthy sprinkling of custom made Festive Fetti confetti. Brenda is the sweetest and can create custom 'fetti for all your party needs! The little diamond shaped boxes make for the cutest 'fetti filled favor. I added jewel themed tattoos to each one for a little extra flair.
How fun are the diamond ring shaped plates (found at Home Goods)?! Technically designed for a bridal shower, but I thought they suited our theme to a T! Place cards and straw flags designed by Jen T. by Design rounded out each place setting nicely.
The pastel diamond mix of sprinklefetti from The Baker's Party Shop was absolute perfection and couldn't have coordinated better with the theme. It turned our store-bought cupcakes into swoon-worthy treats! The light as a feather pink cookies also received a little sprinklefetti love.
Have you ever painted food before? Total game changer! I may not love to bake, but playing with my food is something I can definitely get used to. The rock candy painted with metallic light silver edible paint looked oh so chic in a jar of sprinklefetti!
And can we talk about the FAUX cake and candies from Confection Deception?! I mean, be still my beating heart!! Alyson is so incredibly talented, and her creations are the perfect addition to any party where you want the look of a big fancy cake, but don't want to break the bank to get it!
Here's a little more eye candy from our fun day... hope you've found a little inspo to throw your own pastel she's a gem party!
