When your photographer calls and asks you to come and play "photoshoot fluffer" for the day, you jump up and down and say YES PLEASE! You grumble ever so slightly when you realize it's at sunrise the day of your birthday, but hey...how many people can say they've welcomed a new year of life with the sun coming up? It was pretty magical to say the very least.
Maredith had the adorable iron bed and cozy bedding, so I just added a few props and we were all set.
As luck would have it, there is an enchanting spot right by her house, which had a clearing in the forest feel to it, and it couldn't have been more perfect.
I found the cute red truck with the trees in it at HomeGoods, along with the big red balloon and tassels. I'm such a sucker for balloons these days!
The adorable cookies were from Cookies by Leah, and I assure you they made for a yummy birthday breakfast!
We wrapped a few boxes to give the looks of gifts left by the big man in red, and I had to let my son open them after the photoshoots to get him to believe they were, indeed, empty. I mean why would anyone in their right mind wrap an empty box?! Oh the things we do for a good picture!
What we didn't have to do was force the feeling of love and wonder you see in these cuties' faces. I remember reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' with my brother and getting so excited for the big day to arrive. We would always wake up really early and sneak out of our rooms to take a peek at the gifts under the tree, then quietly tiptoe back to our rooms and pretend to be asleep until we couldn't pretend any longer!
I hope you found a little inspiration for your holiday cards! Happy wishes for a Merry Christmas, and hope all your photo sessions turn out picture perfect!
