Aqualicious Spring Break Camp

March 12, 2016

Since we couldn't make it to the beach over Spring Break, we brought the beach to downtown McKinney with an Aqualicious adventure!

Have you ever read the book Aqualicious? It's a sweet little tale about Pinkalicious taking a trip to the beach where she meets a mermini and all the silliness that ensues!

Our decor for camp was all things pink, aqua, gold, mermaid and beachy. The plates, cups and straws were Paperchase for Target and the design and colors couldn't have been more perfect.

Keeping in theme, we dressed up like mermaids, created beach themed crafts, and even our snacks were beachy! How adorable is this mermini cookie?! The cookies were made by Sweet Caroline's Cookies for a Cause and were absolutely PERFECT! Janice is so sweet and completely got my vision for the camp's decor!

Pretty much obsessed with the mermaid tails I made for the cupcakes! One of these days I will buy a Cricut and not have to cut everything by hand...

How stinkin' cute did these cookies turn out? I mean you would think Janice was in my head!

Here's a full view of our dessert table. Overall pretty simple, and I already had most of the decor items on hand. Our house is decorated with a beachy vibe, so I just shopped my own cabinets for a few odds and ends.

The camp was two fun-filled days of giggles, dancing, games, singing, make-overs, fashion shows and more! Here's the full group of mermaids fresh off the S&S runway. I always love the silly face pictures from our events best...I just wanna pinch them all they're so darn cute!

Our camps always consist of three crafts each day - some are a two-day craft, others are stand-alone. Our first craft was painting these super cute seashell favor boxes with nail polish. I love that the polish retains its bright color and dries really quickly.

We also decorated sun visors with jewels - we LOVE to put jewels on things around here!

These Easter baskets from Party City were jazzed up with adorable ocean animal stickers from Hobby Lobby and would make excellent beach buckets this summer!

Our big craft for the camp was painting and decorating a starfish. We pre-painted the canvases a pretty aqua color the day before camp, then traced a starfish shape in silver permanent marker. The littles then used hot pink paint to fill in the starfish on Monday, and added jewels to them on Tuesday. See, I told ya we like to jewel everything! ;)

I always like to make a fun backdrop for each camp and girls' night out to use for photo ops. I dyed a white sheet aqua and hung tassels made from plastic tablecloths for this one, and used gold sequin fabric on the floor to mimic beach sand.

Definition of #squadgoals right here...

It was a fast couple of days, but we sure did have a blast with these cuties! Hope they had as much fun as we did! And here's another picture of the mermini cookie because she is just too cute for words!
