Life’s a Fiesta!
Cinco de Mayo isn’t just for adults... the tiny humans love a little olé now and then too! That was the premise behind our Fiesta Photobooth for the month of May!
At Made of Sugar and Spice we offer dress-up parties, camps and girls’ nights out for girls ages 3 – 10 years. If you can believe it, I’m a boy mom and I wanted offer something at our boutique that was enjoyable for the whole family, including little brothers! We are based in the cutest little Texas town, complete with a historic downtown rich with pride of community. I wanted to give back and engage more with our neighbors, and creating these silly booths for kiddos (including those kiddos at heart!) was my way of doing just that. I would be remiss to say that I couldn’t do it without my super-supportive handy hubby who (although sometimes begrudgingly) helps craft my dream projects. I design...he builds – we make a perfect team!
What started as a fun little “reindeer food stand” for the annual Home for the Holidays festival quickly grew into a monthly booth we decorate for family-friendly photo opportunities. We had an outpouring of activity from mommas and local photographers for our Valentine’s Day Kissing Booth, and the hoopla exploded from there! Having a holiday each month has made it pretty easy to decide upon a theme. We created a Shamrock Shack for March, a Bunny Booth for April and the Fiesta Booth for May. The summer booths are currently in the works, so I can’t spoil the surprise!
The best part about these booths is receiving pictures from mommas of their sweet littles. Seeing their smiles and silly faces makes what we do so completely worth it. I love nothing more than helping make happy memories!
