Holy moly...where did this year go?! Can you believe it's May 1 already?! I feel like I went to bed on New Year's and woke up to May. My momma used to always say that the older you get, the faster time flies but I never really believed her until now. Shh...don't tell her I conceded she was right about something! ;)
As usual, I waited until the last minute to put together this year's Teacher Appreciation gifts, and I'm kinda glad I did! My brain always works best in procrastination mode, and I'm tickled pink...er blue as this case may be...with my idea!
I'm sure you've all seen the adorable "tickled pink you're my teacher" gift by Pizzazzerie, right? Well, I decided to put my own spin on it as an end of the year gift with an "I'll be blue without you next year" theme!
I headed to my local Target and hit up the dollar spot first - they always have cute baskets and fun little notecards and such. Then I roamed the store for a bit and found a myriad of blue things, including some cute navy blue pom poms and mini bunting in the gift wrap section from the Spritz line. I hot glued the bunting around the basket and added a pom to each of the four corners.
And because I am obsessed with the Heidi Swapp marquee letters, I headed to Michael's and snapped up a letter "E" for my son's teacher's last name. I added a little light blue glitter to the inside for a pop of color.
Then I loaded everything into the basket and attached the cute tag I whipped up to the basket with a mini clothespin and tied with a navy ribbon. Easy peasy and adorable if I do say so myself! The other teachers will be green...er...blue...with envy! ;)
