Our Response to COVID-19
effective May 31, 2020

Since 2004, Made of Sugar and Spice has been a place for young girls to celebrate birthdays and life events with friends and families in a cheerful and fabulous way, while being virtually hassle-free for parents. We live by the motto YOU bring the cake and WE do the rest. We have always aimed to deliver a spectacular atmosphere that caters to celebrating the spirit and moxie that comes with being a girl, while encouraging girls to respect themselves, realize their inner beauty, stretch their imaginations, strengthen relationships with each other, and most importantly have FUN

In a time of so much uncertainty in the world, we are, now more than ever, intent on remaining a safe place for girls to come together and celebrate life's precious moments. We are first and foremost focused on the health and well-being of our Staff, customers and community, and are closely monitoring the ever-evolving COVID-19 pandemic. The below details the safety measures we have implemented to ensure the safety of all those around us.

Parties . . .

  • A 1hr break between parties has been established to provide ample time to thoroughly clean and disinfect all surfaces and party accessories. Our new Party schedule for Saturdays is: 10:30am - 12pm; 1pm - 2:30pm; 3:30pm - 5pm; and 6pm - 7:30pm. Our Sunday schedule is 12pm - 1:30pm; 2:30pm - 4pm; and 5pm - 6:30pm. Guests will be permitted into the boutique no more than 15 minutes prior to the start of their Party.

  • Staff will have their temperatures taken prior to working and will be required to wear a face mask during Parties.

  • All persons over 10 years old are required to wear face masks.  The CDC advises that persons two years or older wear a face mask.  It is the responsibility of the customer to inform their guests of their wishes prior to the day of the party.  The customer shall also be responsible for imposing this request on the day of their party.

  • All Staff shall wear gloves when handling food, plates, napkins, cups, lemonade and any additional function pertaining to the handling of food.

  • A hand sanitizing station will be available upon entering the boutique. In addition, there are multiple hand sanitizing stations throughout the boutique and are available to all guests. Hand washing prior to guests sitting down to eat will be encouraged.

  • We encourage Customers to limit their guest list to the intended party package size of 10 (little) guests maximum in order to comply with occupancy rules.

  • Hair and nails will continue to be part of our standard party package; however, we must forego eye shadow and lip gloss at this time. Unfortunately, we cannot fully ensure there isn’t any cross-contamination.

  • Dresses and Costumes will only be worn once and will be washed after each Party before being returned to the boutique.

Summer & Holiday Camps . . .

  • Neither Staff, nor Campers, who have been potentially exposed to COVID-19 within 14 days prior to the Camp start date will be permitted on the premises.

  • Parents must pay the balance due for their Camp prior to the first day; Parents are encouraged to call with credit card information no later than 3pm the day before Camp starts. We will also accept exact change on the first day.

  • All Staff will have their temperatures taken prior to working and will be required to wear a mask during Camps.

  • Campers and their parents will wait outside the boutique upon arrival to Camp and shall knock on the door for Staff to permit one Camper inside at a time. Campers will have their temperature taken with a non-touch thermometer at the door. Campers with a temperature of 99.5 or higher will not be allowed to attend and will require a doctor’s note before returning.

  • Once Campers have entered the boutique, they will visit our hand sanitizing station. In addition, there are multiple hand sanitizing stations throughout the boutique for frequent use. Thorough hand washing prior to Campers eating snack and lunch will be monitored.

  • Although Sugar & Spice Staff will be required to wear a face mask during Camp, we will not require Campers to do so. However, if Parents would like for their child to wear a face mask, one must be supplied by the Parent.

  • Camps will be limited to a maximum of 12 Campers each to ensure we are able to space them appropriately throughout the boutique. *this number may increase further into the summer as we receive further guidance from State and Local governance.

  • Parents shall wait outside at the end of camp to pick up their child. Parents will knock on the door and show photo ID. Staff will then have that Camper sanitize her hands as she exits the boutique to meet her Parent for pickup.

  • The boutique will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at the end of each day. All accessories and any dresses that are worn during that day's Camp will be washed prior to being returned to the boutique the next day.

Girls' Night Out Events . . .

  • Neither Staff, nor Girls attending, who have been potentially exposed to COVID-19 within 14 days prior to the GNO start date will be permitted on the premises.

  • Parents must pay the balance due for GNO no later than 3pm the day of the event. Parents are encouraged to call with credit card information. We will also accept exact change on the first day.

  • GNO events will be limited to a maximum of 12 Girls each to ensure we are able to space them appropriately throughout the boutique. *this number may increase further into the fall as we receive further guidance from State and Local governance.

  • Parents shall wait outside at the end of GNO to pick up their child. Parents will knock on the door and show photo ID. Staff will then have that Girl sanitize her hands as she exits the boutique to meet her Parent for pickup.
