Happy March and almost Spring!! I can’t believe we’re already 3 months into the New Year – I swear it was Christmas only a few days ago. I guess the saying “time flies when you’re having fun” is true!

I’m so excited to share our “Stay Golden” St. Patrick’s Day party with you! Have you ever heard the song “Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver, the other’s gold”? It’s an old song I learned in Girl Scouts years ago, and was the jumping off point for our theme this year. I think the premise suits our GNO’s perfectly since the littles that join us are always making new friends. And as you know, good friends are definitely pure gold!

Being one who absolutely loves puns, this year’s Galentine's Party theme is “Mint” to be Best Friends Forever. I was going for a glam shabby chic feeling, and finding the mint green sequin tablecloth provided the perfect bit of wow to get the decorations started. I also have a collection of vintage doors and windows, all of which have a slight minty-aqua color to them, so adding them was a no brainer. Our old school chairs received a little makeover with a bit of a gold spray paint, and paired beautifully with the table setting. A little bit of bunting added to the backs of the chairs gave them a hint of whimsy.

Since this is an event for l...

Oktoberfest is one of my favorite times of year. I suppose being of German descent, and having lived in Germany for just over five years, probably has a lot to do with it! My love for the German culture even extends to my favorite breed of dog – the dachshund, aka weenie dog, doxie, sausage dog...the nicknames go on and on. I grew up with the breed, and have two of my own now, and something about them is just so stinking adorable to me. Their long awkward bodies; the way the walk; their long floppy ears, and chunky paws – every little bit of them makes me smile! I have been itching to throw a doxie-themed party for a while now, and the lig...

Howdy y'all! We kicked up our boots and welcomed summer with the glitteriest cowgirl party in town!

All the S&S hostesses wore their fancy kicks for the occasion, and we had a little fun before the little gals arrived, taking pictures and decorating.

The theme was leaned towards shabby chic with a color palette of aqua, pale pink, gold and lavender. Of course, burlap and lace were not to be left out!

The cowgirl hats were fancied up with pink cording and lavender spray painted sheriff's badges.

The soft colors blended perfectly with the existing decor of the boutique.

One of our crafts of the night consisted of mini piggy...

We put our green thumbs to the test and stretched our garden fairy wings during a fun girls' night out over the weekend! Although I'm not the biggest fan of getting my hands dirty, I do love me some pretty flowers!

I love having a pretty dessert table set up to greet the girls when they arrive so they can get an idea of the sweet night they have ahead of them. I hand painted the "bloom" hanging on kraft paper then attached pink and blue tissue paper flowers that I had actually made two years ago for my 40th (eeks!) birthday party decor. Sometimes being a craft hoarder really pays off!

I found the silly pink garden gnome in the Target dollar...

How do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? At Sugar & Spice we like to celebrate all things green with glitter, jewels, mini-makeovers and fashion shows. This year's Emeraldalicious GNO was made fun by these cuties you see here...

...and not a single one of them is wearing GREEN! Goodness gracious how did that happen?! We do have green dresses and accessories, but they were just not interested. #ohwell #wetried #wegettopinchthemall

After a dinner of cheese pizza (our personal fave), we devoured yummy Lucky Charms Treats and cupcakes.

Everything looks better with a gold glitter shamrock on top. #justsayin

The mouth-watering popcorn was a treat w...

We had so much fun celebrating friendship with our little galentines Frozen Fever style! The popularity of Frozen is as strong as ever, so we figured if we can't beat 'em, join 'em! I just love the bright and spring-y colors associated with the new movie - really makes me ready for longer days and warmer weather!

Our yummy treats for the evening consisted of cupcakes, pink candy dipped Rice Krispie treats, and colorful popcorn from the Mom and Popcorn Company in downtown McKinney.

How cute are those little French milk bottles?! SUPA cute if you ask me! I wanted to jazz them up a little, so added some polka dot ribbon and little flowers tha...
